|
Cameron Mac Millan has decided to sell one of his two Hobbit BeBoxen, serial
number 9308000058. It runs a very early version of BeOS in which the San Jose
Sharks logo appears on-screen rather than the Be logo. It's fully functional,
in very good cosmetic shape and has been verified working, but is being sold

Photos of early Australian BeBoxen
|
Alex Dawson has put up some great photos of a Rev5 and Rev6 BeBox from the
University of Western Australia. They provide a great side-by-side comparison
of the evolution of the BeBox hardware in its early days. From a historical point
of view, these BeBoxen are of particular interest, as they were owned by early
BeOS developer, Peter N Lewis, of Stairways Software. Peter developed probably the
first web server for the BeOS during the early developer releases (around the time
of BeOS 1.1dr5!) |

and design of different versions of the BeBox. Mark Jerde has created a thorough
side-by-side pictorial comparison of his two BeBoxen - one a Rev 5 the other
a Rev 6 that provide us with further insight into the differences.
