26-May-2003 More on the Pegasos PPC

OSNews has published a fairly extensive review of the Pegasos platform. Eugenia tests both the Amiga-like MorphOS and Debian GNU/Linux running on the Pegasos hardware. There is also mention of alternative OSs (including OpenBeOS).

30-Apr-2003 OpenBeOS for the BeBox?

According to a story at LeBuzz (which surfaced from the recent begeistert 10) work is underway to port the NewOS, one of the many BeOS derivative operating systems, to the new Pegasos PowerPC machines. Further rumour and innuendo then suggests that a port of OpenBeOS to the PowerPC platform could follow. So could this mean OpenBeOS for the BeBox?

15-Mar-2003 BeGeistert 10

Keen for some dedicated BeOS geek time? BeGeistert 10 will be held at the end of April. For the first time, it will be held at the Düsseldorf Youth Hostel, a short walk from the Altstadt. Be quick though, the deadline for registration is March 27th.

5-Mar-2003 Sakoman re-joins Apple

Steve Sakoman, co-founder of Be Inc, former Newton project leader at Apple, and most recently, chief product officer at PalmSource has come full circle. CNet today announced that Sakoman has rejoined Apple as a vice-president.
